RYA Sea Survival Courses

The RYA basic sea survival course is designed specifically for the yachtsman/yachtswoman in the leisure boating sector. The course deals with the actions to take to keep your vessel afloat, raise the alarm, how to safely abandon your vessel and then survive until help arrives. During the RYA sea survival course we inflate a real liferaft and allow you to experience the feeling of a gas inflated lifejacket as it inflates. We also teach you how to check and service your own lifejacket which will ultimately save you £s in serving fees and could save your life in the long run. Taught by experienced Royal Navy or MCA qualified instructors in an outdoor pool during summer and an indoor pool during winter, this is a high quality course which is invaluable if the proverbial ever hits the fan!

STCW95 Personal Survival Techniques

Personal Survival Techniques is the STCW name for Sea Survival. This course is a mandatory requirement for commercial fishermen and offshore commercial boatmen including merchant seamen and Super-yacht crews. Quite similar to the RYA Sea Survival course, we teach you the necessary skills to survive if you are ever unlucky enough to have to abandon ship with more emphasis on the evacuation systems fitted to personnel and hazardous cargo ships. You will get the opportunity to wear a survival suit and experience the equipment fitted to most merchant ships. This course forms part of the 4 required modules needed to work on commercial vessels. We are proud to be an MCA approved school offering this service and can cater for up to 12 personnel at each session.
