For our motor boat courses we use two very different vessels to cater for whichever training you require; a 2006 Fairline Phantom 40 fly-bridge motor cruiser and a 2004 Evolution 38 single screw diving/angling boat for commercial & standard training. Kandooma, our Fairline Phantom is renowned for her sea keeping and refined comfort. Fitted with a bow thruster and using state of the art electronic throttle control you will quickly learn how to berth and handle this luxury boat. She is also fitted with the very latest full specification Raymarine electronic navigation aids including a 12" chart plotter with overlay Radar and interlinked autohelm to allow you to train with similar equipment to all production top spec vesels. We understand this course will also serve as part of your holiday and generally like to find the quieter backwaters for our evenings ashore. We guarantee to show you beautiful unspoilt areas of the Westcountry during your course. Silver Sea, our Evolution 38 is a "hard boat" and similar in construction to an Offshore 105. Powered by a Caterpillar diesel driving through a single shaft, she is kept in excellent condition and a capable workboat. Fitted with comprehensive but commercial standard electronic navigation equipment she is an ideal boat to gain experience with whenever non fly-bridge training is required. Silver Sea has two small berths onboard but our clients will generally opt for B&B ashore; we have a comprehensive list of shoreside facilities which will suit every budget. We will return to our home port each evening whilst training on Silver Sea. We provide high quality food and drink whilst you are onboard for lunch and afternoon snack. We always stop in port overnight and mostly somewhere different than yesterday if weather permits. Accommodation onboard is excellent but we normally eat ashore at a local pub or yacht club in the evenings and this is at your own expense. We are able to cater for 1:1 tuition if required but our courses normally are run over 4 days for ICC Day Skipper or 5 days for Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster. Helmsman training courses are 1 - 2 days depending on previous experience. |
